FiveThirty Foundation

The pharmaceutical industry in North America and Europe has been optimizing for ROI rather than availability and accessibility. We recognize the improvements and the novel drug discoveries that have been made over the last five decades. But one must also understand that there is a flaw in the system that has been built. Medication that costs a fraction of a dollar to produce in the lab is sold at prices that make them inaccessible to the people who need them. We understand that there have been efforts in order to fix this issue, but it has not been effective enough because patents get extended, generics get blocked, and what you end up with is a system where profit dictates who receives treatment.

We at FiveThirty are here to take a different approach. We are driven by a singular, non negotiable mission that insulates us from short term commercial pressures and distractions. We are fully self funded. No seed rounds. No grants. No outside investments. Only capital from the original founders themselves. No contracts, no equity stakes that allow foreign pressure or control over FiveThirty. It will stay that way. Permanently. We come in peace.

Our focus is hard to synthesize medication. Drugs that cost a fraction to produce compared to their consumer market price. We find new synthesis pathways that allow generic manufacturers to produce them without breaking patent law.

The method is Retrosynthesis driven by machine learning models grounded in quantum mechanics and thermodynamics.

The problem with current models is simple: they produce pathways that are not viable, sometimes chemically impossible, despite the high confidence scores they output. Our approach is to look at chemistry through physics and incorporate a different scoring system into our models. The goal is accurate, efficient, novel and possible pathways that can actually be executed by chemists in a lab.

We operate fully within the law and will publish and open source all of our findings. What we hope to achieve out of this is extending human knowledge and propelling mankind forward. To give to those who did not have a chance to get it themselves. And to inspire our generation of builders to not only look out for profitability, credit, or their name, but rather something that is more selfless relative to our time, something for others. We recognize we were lucky to be put into this position, to have the tools and the knowledge to build something greater than ourselves. Therefore, we have the responsibility to share with the people who have not had this chance.

We are assembling a focused team of young scientists, engineers, and coders. If you are driven to solve this critical challenge and are determined to succeed in this endeavour with us, we invite you to join.
